Most of the time, when I am in public, I am wearing a hat. That habit started with golf. The photograph was taken by me on Belle Isle, with Detroit, Michigan as the backdrop.
Detroit represents a theme I've been exploring: the equal value of what was, what is, and what could be. What was Detroit? Where mass production became a civilization. A symbol of American industry and power. Then: 1967. Then: collapse. What is Detroit? Something being rebuilt, unevenly, by people who never left. What could it be? You will have to use your imagination for that.
One of my favorite things to do is daydream. This website represents those daydreams, told as a story of stories. It is meant for potential investors, partners, and a very special person to me.
This preface was written as I walked the path around the perimeter of Belle Isle. It is a beautiful place to walk or run, and a fitting place to think about what was, what is, and what could be.
As you read through the contents of the site, I hope you use your imagination as much as you learn about what was and what is.
Thank you for taking the time to read this body of work.
Before you continue, I want to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who helped me arrive here. Some people helped directly. Others helped without knowing it. The full list is long, and I am not ready to write it properly yet, but the gratitude is real. This work was not created alone.
